COOL Annual Celebration 2023 Appeal

Each year we have a special appeal at our Annual Celebration and this year all donations will be split between these two great events in the COOL calendar:

“Its Your Move” books are a great resource for all of our P7 pupils and is an impactful tool brimming with advice, activities and real-life testimonies. The 80-page book covers all the issues of concern for a young person, with features on getting to school, doing homework and finding your way around. It’s Your Move also covers some of the more difficult aspects of life at secondary school including making friends and bullying. We are so grateful to our Primary Schools for the opportunity to meet with all of our P7 children to speak to them about their transition to High School and give each of them one of these books. This costs around £70 to buy.

The second cause is the cost of transport for our Alltnacriche Youth Weekend in September. This will therefore reduce the overall cost to each young person and makes the weekend even more accessible to all of our young people. The weekend is a fantastic opportunity for our young people to get away and partake in some brilliant activities as well as hear some inspirational teaching and thought provoking discussion. The transport costs around £270.

Lock-down was quite challenging in many ways, as I’m sure it was for you all too. We found that during lock-down, the online Timmy Time really helped us stay close with God and talk to other people through Google Meets. During Lock-down, we would always be looking forward to Fridays where we could listen to the Bible talk and then catch up with people who we hadn’t seen for months.

During this whole pandemic I think many people around the world found it hard to trust God and remember that he is in control, having Timmys on a Friday definitely kept us reminded that God is in control during these hard times and that he is always there for us and he has a plan.

The weather obliged and snowed right on cue for the third year in a row! Drew Kuzma, our speaker, spoke from the heart, in a really raw and heartfelt way - and honest - which I know spoke to almost everyone, so it was pretty intimate in that way. It was nice just for all the youth, no matter what age, to be together!
